The film is then placed on the fabric and applied with a heat press. After just 10 seconds of pressing (yes, you read right) and a quick peel, the print is transferred and fused with the fabric — and fused permanently!
When you apply heat and pressure using a heat press or an iron, the adhesive in DTF printing melts and bonds at a molecular level with the fabric fibres. Unlike other methods, DTF's adhesive layer doesn't rely on opening pores in the fabric, allowing it to adhere effectively to various materials like cotton, polyester, blends, nylon, and spandex.
This flexibility in bonding ensures the transfer conforms to the fabric’s texture and stretch, resulting in a durable and vibrant finish that withstands washing and wear.
For the perfect DTF transfers all you need to do is:
1
Pre-press your garment to remove wrinkles and moisture
2
Align your film where you want it
3
Press for 10 seconds
4
Let the film cool, then gently peel away
5
Press for another 10 seconds
